Thanks. Currently working on some custom mods, so it can take 3 or even 4 weeks before the next main version. I will probably release a bug fix in the next days.

It suggests to me that I must first install a point mod, but it does not categorically state as much.

It says "can", thus it means that if you want you can get more out of it. You don't need any preinstalled mods.
