how would i go about making it when a user registers instead of making them goto this usergroup "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation"

how would i make it so they cant login until they have verified there email address? instead of it sending them to the usergroup "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" because they can then see the links and text inside Quotes ect.. which only registered users can view..
