vb.org Archive - View Single Post - Pruning? Archiving? How do I reduce the size of my data without losing content?

I don't really think I want to prune any of the posts on my site, since that would mean loss of post counts and threads that my members enjoy re-reading years later. Not to mention losing content from my site.

Is there anyway to truly archive my old threads so that they're still readable in archive mode, but no longer exist in the post table of my database?

We have over 625,000 posts, and it's starting to cause some db instability.
