PS I don't always trust others to know what they are doing. I suggest that you create an extra backup of your database before your host starts on trying to fix your problem. To solve this issue might require extensive MySQL knowledge, and it is very easy to make things worse.

Thanks Marco. Ya, I made a new backup last night for that exact reason. I'll see what they have to say and go from there. I definitely appreciate the advice to open up a ticket with VB. I'm glad to hear that it is an option.

hey Marco. They are offering to dump and re-import using the same char set as vb for the database. Are there any special instructions you think i should give them? (if we need to take this to PMs or whatever, please let me know). Thanks again.
