I saw one of these on a blog/tech news site a few days ago.

I started to view the page and then got a message saying "disable your ad blocker".

I clicked "view javascript", found the file that mentioned that text, added that .js file to the ad blocker and back viewing the site without ads in about 30 seconds.

Basic point is - you need to check on the client side to see if they block ads - the client side can always be altered by the user.
