Default Locations Atlas mod (Google Maps + MS Virtual Earth)

Hello,

I've developed a vb mod for my website which was written from the beginning with respect to being generic and being able to work on other situations as well (if i would like to release it as a mod in the future).

It uses Google Maps and Microsoft Virtual Earth maps to tag hot locations and also has an array of tables behind where location info and features can be kept. For my website www.pbzone.net (which is a paintball website) my users can tag new paintball fields, paintball stores, paintball team headquarters, High Pressure Tank testing centers and also where they live. So its actually using the maps to tag any location no matter what its about.

Following are some screenshots i have taken (sorry for the Greek language!):

New locations are added either by you or the users, they can also be updated, and of course they are logged with IP and username. There is an admin console where you can approve new or updated locations. There is an internal log (mysql table) of all changes made with date, ip and username.

The latest feature was to add the bird's eye view from the VE maps for a closer look at any location:

Its been running for 2 years now and i think its a very stable release up to now with most of the bugs resolved slowly but steadily. If you wish to see a live demo (must be registered) then you can at

There are many more features to it but my main question is the following. Would it be worth it if i packaged this whole thing as a product for generic use? Is there anyone out there who would benefit from such a mod in his/her website?

Regards,

Jason
