Actually, the problem you experienced is because in your AdminCP, you chose yes to Spy Mode.

Spy Mode: Yes No

You need to set it to No and your text field will return

Which makes sense because Paul stated that in Spy Mode you can watch but not chat....Whenever you want to spy, just go back to your AdminCP and select yes to Spy Mode...Be well
