I have to regret that it doesn't work as good as I thought.
With showthread.php the posts seem to get smaller in a cascading style.
The width of the table top seems ok and the first post is a littlebit smaller, the second is smaller than the first and the third I don't have posted yet.

If I find a solution I will tell you.
