Actually U had everything in order,,, the only issue was your VAR wasn't placed in navbar template...

$tabbarsuite
just above the <!-- breadcrumbs.............................etc...

The global var activates the tabbars in Forumhome and CMPS...
If its not placed,,, NADA,,, NOTHING...

P.S: I changed your tabbars colors 2 match your style...>>> DEMO <<<
