Actually I solved this problem by installing the "groan" mod. I have "thanks" turned off in the off-topic forums, and the groan mod turned on. I renamed the "groan" phrases in the xml file to "Way To Go", replaced the button with a custom one, and disabled the rep points for the mod. Now members can WTG each other without rep points going through the roof
