He is saying if you don't use the default image path(forums/images), the 3 icons must be uploaded to whatever path you used and specified in the WP Rewrite options page.

If you are using forums/images, then upload the 3 icons to there, and enjoy

The hack option for images directory setting defaults to the forums/image directory.

This worked for me without a hitch.
