That's OK, you can still use and set up the plug-in without the automatic-lookup feature. The only feature you won't be able to make use of is the Who's Chatting system, so I would recommend disabling the AddonChat Who's Chatting script from Scheduled Tasks in your AdminCP.

Short of that, if you're using remote authentication, the only thing you'll need to do is copy/paste the remote authentication URL shown in your AddonChat menu to your AddonChat account control panel under Settings -> Site Integration -> Remote Authentication
