Does anyone know of a hack which lets you insert predefined phrases into a post?

Running various support forums, I find myself constantly typing the same canned responses (like "Read the manual, dipstick!"). I'd love to have a hack which allows me to define my canned responses (probably in the ACP), and an editor control which lets me insert one or more of them.

If there isn't such a beast already, I'll write one. But didn't want to re-invent the wheel.
