I overode the English language and ignored version... but it won't display..

I changed my FORUMHOME template to read

<!-- Keyser added -->
$chatbox_forumhome
<!-- /keyser added -->
$footer
</body>
</html>

and modified the Chatbox display on forumhome plugin to read

$find = '$chatbox_forumhome';

instead of
$find = '$forumhome_markread_script';

but it's not working..
HELP?
