Disable your Plugins and hooks and enable them one by one until you narrow down the problem. It will probably be a Plugin with the Hook Location newthread_***.

(Plugin Manger: AdminCP > Plugins & Products > Plugin Manager)

As for you editor, you can use Notepad (it has a Goto Line option) or download a free PHP Editor, there are loads, notepad++, PHP Designer, to name but a few; just to a google search for them)
