When you purchase an Owned License, you have the right to run vBulletin indefinitely. You will also receive 1 years worth of updates (to vBulletin), after that, you may pay $30 anytime to receive updates for another year.

When you purchase a Leased License, you have the right to run vBulletin for one year, after that, you must remove vBulletin from your server, or pay another $85 for another year. Also, if you pay another $85 within 60 days of purchasing a Leased License, you will have your license upgraded to an Owned License.
