@ Danny~ your mom was right about the flagrant displays. Those kids were jealous of you for some reason. Kids/people do and say mean things due to a low self-esteem and to make themselves feel better about themselves. Sad, but true and I'm sorry it happened to you. Same thing happened to me...I was the smallest and youngest kid in my class and a nerd, and I was picked on mercilessly. But we're better people now for it, right?

Anyway, back on topic.

My best birthday gift is a tie:

Scenario #1: When I turned 23 or 24 (I forget, it was so long ago), my boyfriend at the time, brought me a strawberry cake, after working the graveyard shift, put a bunch of birthday candles on it, and surprised me by waking me with this lit-up cake on the morning of my birthday. It was the sweetest gesture and one I'll never forget.

Scenario #2: Giving birth to my daughter on my 27th birthday. Technically, she was born at 12:21AM the day after, but I had spent the last 4 hours of my birthday in labor.
