Perfect, wanted to make something like this, but never had the time to do it. Thanks.

Maybe it would be a good feature to have some page where you can enable default blocks like last x threads (and set parameters like the 'x') and choose if it's got to be on the left or right side column (or both). But well, maybe this would bring the product too far (would almost be a little cms).
