Error with user has meta character like ' or ".. in their username

Database error in vBulletin 3.7.0 Release Candidate 1:

Invalid SQL:
SELECT COUNT(*) as qa FROM cchatbox_action WHERE
 username='Trangchuo^i'' ;;

MySQL Error   : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual
 that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to
