If you have a .htaccess file in either your home (../public_html/.) or forumhome (../public_html/forums/.) then try renaming them for a short time and see if that resolves your problem. You might have a bad redirect rule in there.

What i do see in the log is that (even at the end) your forum is installed at ./forums, but you are trying to load /showthread instead of /forums/showthread.
