I thought of 'ping' since that's the Usenet lingo for paging a user. But yeah, maybe "paging" would be better.

Your idea is actually pretty good and might do the trick, though not exactly what I was thinking. A link on each post to "PM-Page a friend tothis post/thread" would probably work all right, and wouldn't confuse members with a whole new system. I'll look into how I might be able to accomplish this. Thanks.
