OK, I'm seeing a pink street lights now. Along with candy canes and little dancing bears. Thanks alot Joe for sticking that image in my brain.

All seriousness aside, I tried changing the pink to yellow, and I must say, your way was easier to see, when the blindness from switching it to yellow went away.

What about the disablesimlieoptions not showing up? I see you have it in the template, but it doesn't show up at all. That hasn't changed in 3.7, I don't think, has it?
