Not every carrier, I work for T-Mobile in the UK and you need to request the service is turned on - it does not exist as standard.

I've been browsing the net on a mobile phone for 5 years, it's nothing new. And by net I do mean net, and not WAP.

My phone is connected to HSDPA most of the time, a 3.6 meg connection comes in handy on the move. I found IM fine on GPRS, and used it for years (there's no Edge in the UK, apart from O2 who installed it just for the iPhone).

Back on topic, I have seen a few scripts that offer the service, most are subscription based where you buy your outward SMS in bulk. I haven't seen one integrated with vB though.
