Just happened to me, too...5 days worth of data, GONE! But my web host is Yahoo, not A Small Orange. This is the final nail in Yahoo Web Hosting's coffin...I'm moving to DreamHost tonight.

The tech I talked to agreed with me when I said it sounds as if a server reset itself...I was having issues back on Thursday night.
