bxbigt just posted a request for a link check for links to big uploading sites. I would like to have a dead link remover for any dead link.

Dead links on your site are a big deal for search engines and your ranking. This in turn has a effect on the number of visitors you are getting from search engines. Therefore it is important to remove dead links throughout your forum.

If anyone would be so kind to code this, then that would be awesome:
a cron based script that checks all links in your forum and turns dead links into a text message, explaining why the link has been removed. Then send a PM to the author asking him/her to replace the link.
