I have 2 seperate accounts with Site5 ... one has the same problems as you are talking about and it started happening when "The Planet" acquired Site5 and moved that particular server to the datacenter in Houston.

The other server I have runs like a dream.. it has been down 4 times in 2 years (all scheduled), for hardware upgrades (processors, ram and new drives)..

Both are MultiHost plans, so they are on better hardware platforms with a limited amount of accounts...

IMHO, when the Planet acquired them, things went south pretty darn fast.
