The first yes, in some cases. Some casino's don't check for blackjack until after the hand has been played.

The second, sort of. If you bust, you lose regardless, but if there where other players at the table the dealer would play the hand out. Doesn't effect play regardless though.

Rules vary, I figure if you DD and the dealer was showing a Ace, you got what you deserved

The blackjack game is getting a few improvements made, 5-card charlie rule is going in. I might change the way it handles dealer getting blackjack, might not. Don't think I'll add insurance though as it's really a bad bet to make and just a way to add a little edge for the house when suckers are playing
