If it works and everyone is happy with the way it works, why take the risk in an upgrade. Some of the biggest boards never feel the need to upgrade and I for one will probably wait until version 4.
I admin a board here with 15K members and we're still on the 3.5.4. Most members don't care about the addons and just want chat or information and are happy with what their used to.
