My opinion is don't use things like that. Basically starts your forum off with junk. I think it would be much better just to have your friends join the site to help build it up then start doing some advertising. That's what I did for 1 of my forums and had it bumping within 48hrs. Especially with things like myspace or facebook you could draw tons of people to your forum much easier then I did before those things were around.
