You probably have some plugin/product installed that is causing the problem. When I was writing some hacks for my site and would use Quick Reply, I would get that white page when I did not do the coding for the ajax quick reply correctly. You may want to look in your error_logs. I can't remember if the problem was getting listed in there or not. Or, turn off your hacks and see if Quick Reply works and then turn them on one by one to find the one that is causing the problem.
