The difference is, with the stock system, people that list bogus/typo emails create dead accounts on your system. You either clear those out, do PMs to try to get the right email or let them inflate your members numbers. On our board I conservatively estimate new reg this month at 5:1 bogus to good emails.
With this system, until they reply to the email, they can't even create an account.
On some boards that have staff to do PM followup and pruning of dead accounts, its better to let them register with a bogus email, then correct it. When you're getting upwards of a dozen bogus emails a day and you're busy with OTHER things on the board, then you might want this system.
