if i run site map generator am getting like this error only am using latest 3.6.8patch2 version ........................

Sitemap generator runs fine but I'm getting errors when I try to view the sitemap:

make sure that vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder permissions are set to 0777 and all *files* inside data/ folder (if any) - to 0666.

My sitemap_index.xml.gz seems to be stored under forums/vbseo_sitemap/data

When i run the sitemap generator is says the file is under /Forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz

So do i manually have to move the file?

No, there is an .htaccess entry to handle that - although files are stored in vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder, they still can be accessed via forums root folder.

please try vbseo_sitemap_functions.php file modification suggested above in this thread to address SE ping issue.
