I updated my post. I am NOT now having the "disappearing chatbox" problem. Somehow, in my own User Profile, Chatbox was turned off. My error. Chatbox is working for me.
I did add $mgc_cb_ucp to modifyoptions and <div class="smallfont">$cb_stats</div> to FORUMHOME. I did NOT add the navbar mods. V1.5 upgrade instructions said I didn't need to mod the navbar and it looks like I indeed don't need to.
