If you need to drop weight very quickly, low carb is the way to go. Cutting your carbs WAY back and eliminating sugars (even a lot of natural sugars from things like fruit) and eating very lean, high protein meals like fish and veggies will help you cut weight FAST. However, I'm not really a fan of low carb diets because I find that I fall off the wagon quickly from feeling deprived of things I like. So, I've followed weight watchers and had great success with it. It's basically just an easy way to eat smaller portions, low fat and low calories, while still giving yourself some treats that you like.
If you cut the carbs and sugars, your body will not be using carbs as energy, it will be using your stored fat for energy, thus helping you lose quickly. I still can't do it and stick with it though b/c I'm addicted to bread and pasta

Why do you need to lose so quickly?
