I'm not keen on the other idea of stopping users from posting based on their timezone, just seems a bit heavy handed for the majority of users.

I've been looking at this mod which may be of use to you entitled Prevent Spam Posts

I'm going to ask the question as to whether it can be used with 3.6.8 before I install it.
