I have had crashes with Internet Explorer 6 and 7 under Windows XP. If you don't run them in their own process, they might take the operating system with them. But anyone who knows Windows will set them up so they run in their own processes.

Oh I'm not argueing with you on that one Wayne

Windows XP can act like a total pain in the ass sometimes, and I generally format after a year because of the slowdown of gradually installing crap that clogs up system resources. Nevertheless, most blue screens are down to faulty drivers and defecting hardware. You'd have exactly the same consequence in linux, although I don't know how they handle bad drivers and hardware
