so, why become the standard Smileys in the Chatbox.

When you say this is the first smiley, this depends if you got groups or so

So basically the shown smileys are taken in the order of add in the database this is why yuo see the vbulletin default smilies.

If you don't like this, you can activate the random smilies option in the acp so that it gets different smilies every time

Hum. If you have uploaded the english xml file thus overwriting the english language file this should be ok.

Any errors while uploading the language file ?

Your problem concerns all the chatbox or is this only few items that get shown in the wrong language ?
