Thanks, Brad. I do have Firefox installed. I hate it with a passion but I could use it for downloads.

The good news for people that find Firefox slow and clunky is that Opera 9.2x has a transfer manager that allows you to resume interrupted scripted downloads. I'm using it now to download a file from here and have already resumed it once.
