most of the time, when the job is not proper the first time, you do it until the image is great, 2 or 3 times... i've done it for some professional works already... easier than resizing each layers...

I couldn't do that, even if I wanted to no matter how tempting it is (because I'm lazy) but I prefer tweaking/modifying each layer to retain the visual quality. Example: Blending mode tweaking, masking and any other individual layer tweaking. I'd really be cutting corners with the method your suggesting and retaining the visual quality would be thrown out of the window which is something (btw: I am really tempted to do) but for consistencies sake, I'm not willing to undertake no matter how tempting and time saving this suggestion would be.
Maybe in about 6 months when I stop caring but thanks for the suggestion anyway. I do try to cut corners but without compromising visual quality.
