That's pretty strange indeed, we aren't aware of such an issue. Can you pm me your site url (and eventually a test account to access the downloads section if it's closed for guests) so I can check it out?

Shouldnt that be as default? Search is the core of each database aplication like this one, so why hide that on second page and frustrate users with too much clicking...

I already incorporated a pulldown search menu (vBulletin search type) on the downloads home for v6.

The main problem for v6 at the moment is the directory structure rewrite (with subdirs instead of one downloads directory), so I'm thinking about skipping that for a next version as it takes to much time. There's a lot of new code already finished, so I think it's better to get that released (for example a brand new admin panel, which is fully functional).
