If you have your forum translated to other languages you have to update language phrase xs_ip_address_for_this_post for those languages.

Try to re-download the archive and to re-upload ipinfo.php file in ASCII mode.
I tested this one on 5 forums with different php's and mysql's versions.

There were no any technical changes in 1.5 version in comparison with 1.4 version.

If you still have the problems look in your web server's or php's log files for any error.

Paul M, yes, I agree with you that in that case we don't need that change. I think when I added that one I just got reinsured (Maybe because it is "free" date field). But there is no any harm from that change
