The code in
red is to be removed (since you were going to do without the google ad anyway). The <div> code in
blue is to indicate a change of "class" insert. Leave the blue code but remove the red code.
In Admin CP --> Styles & Templates --> Styles Manager --> Your Style --> Main CSS at the very bottom of additional CSS add the code:

x is the height of the banner. It's in pixels. I haven't tested it so I don't know what the final result will look like.
