Y'know when you click on 'new posts' and there are none?.. and the software says, "Click here to check for posts in the past 24 hours?"

Y'know what I'd like?.. and I've never seen it yet, I'd like to see a "calendar" there.. where you could like.. 'click' on a date and make that 24 hour scan go back.. you know.. Two days.. three.. a month!.. whatever...

I have users who swear they never saw the new messages that may have been posted.. and as I look at the setting for 'new messages' I see where they can be marked as 'read' in several different ways.. One of them is by actually reading the post.. But when you try checking again for 'new' posts (to find that one you had once read).. its gone from new!.. and yer done!..

If someone has already modded the system this way.. Please share..
If it sounds like a decent idea.. could someone give it a shot?... I'm no programmer..
