That is not the best advice to give. Why delete the usergroup? I see absolutly no reason to do so.

To solve your problem: When installing that modification (chatbox??) you have also uploaded a ./includes/xml/bitfield_XXXX.xml that belongs to this modification. You have later uninstalled the modification, but left this file on the server. Remove the file ad edit any usergroup and all should be back to normal.
