For (1): Do you mean changes like: Breaking Articles to change to eg Unbreaking Articles?

. Sure. You just need to change the phrases.

For (2): Do you mean something like vBadvanced? Sorry not. vbJournal is not a CMPS module. Of course if you're good in modifying templates you can do miracles.
