Blane, before you start planning on charging for this, you still need to tweak it up quite a bit...
You have been promising to make image uploads available since at
LEAST Dec, 2006...

Last update was Aug 02, 2007...Blane, this is a basic need for an auction site, and while you
can display images with BBCode, that is NOT the optimum solution. You do not even provide an IMG button in your description box to add the hyperlinked image upload to the post...
This has been a requested feature almost since you first posted this mod. I think you should finally address the issue and take care of it (along with the "Buy it now" feature, which has also been requested for a long time...) For those of us with server space for image hosting, it is primitive to then require the members who use the forum uploader to then have to go to a 3rd party Image host in order to post a picture with their auction.
The PayPal ability is a BIG help for many situations.

Yeah i was thinking about doing it. Ill look into it a bit more.
|
The submit button on the original listing page needs to be made into a PREVIEW button, with the original listing box at the bottom, similar to an advanced pane when replying to a post, with the SUBMIT on the preview page then the
only "submit." It is confusing to see submit in order to see the preview, and in order to edit before submitting, going back a page ERASES your description entirely...This needs to be "seamless" for members who are NOT computer savvy, but can read and click basic buttons.
Please! This mod NEEDS tp be editable by Administrators! While I can understand the arguments against a
seller editing a listing,
Administrators need the ability to edit/delete absolutely ANYTHING on their forum without having to jump through a bunch of hoops or know a lot of coding to get into the "guts" of a mod to make changes. If mistakes are made, an Admin can fix them. Admin editing should be a
CORE inclusion for ANY and EVERY mod created...
It would also be beneficial, if you would add an IF statement that would allow Vbay Usergroup VIEWING of auctions, in addition to "allowed to Post Auctions."
This would let guests
see the auction, but not be able to bid without registering...
You will be able to sell this once you get the
BASICS implemented, and then include the "fancier" bells and whistles, such as Member Profile linking, notifications, and some of the other more customized tweaks coded. But at present, just the basics of easy-preview before submitting, image upload (for those forums w/server hosting abilities), and ADMIN EDITING ability will make the "bare bones" mod more functional.

Installed, but awaiting a bit more stable version.
Thank you nonetheless, for all the time and thought you have put into this. It was not even a consideration for my forums, but once I came across the mod, it was a logical inclusion. It is a good beta, runs on 3.68, and it will be an excellent mod once it is completed.
