well, this might well be overkill for what you are asking, but you can do this sort of thing with vbdrupal. (drupal is a cms, vbdrupal combines this open-source cms with vb). you can easily pull vb blocks into the drupal environement and put them on your home page, in your content outside the forum, etc. you're supposed to be able to pull drupal blocks into your vb as well, but i've had less success with that. the default theme for vb drupal sets your entire site's style to pull from your vb templates, so you have automatic matching integration...cool, i thought.

however, be aware: there is a learning curve and if you're not looking for a full-featured content management system to integrate with your vb, then it wouldnt' be a good choice for you.
