The 16mb cache will help and since you are watching TV im assuming there may be recording in the process and you will want that 3gb/s transfer speed. This is currently what everyone is buying right now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148140
There is no reason for a quad core processor at all. Your paying 1k US for that processor. Just get the standard e6600 2.4ghz dual core. Thats a $700 savings right there. There is close to no programs out there that support quad core.
Video card im assuming with this high end system you plan to do something big so get a 8800 GTX Ultra or with the money you save from the CPU get 2 and run SLI. However 8800 SLI basically is having issues as of right now they just need to get out some good drivers for it.
You dont have a mouse?
Also dont get Vista home edition I bet most of that hardware wouldnt even work with it. Get at least buissness if not vista. Trully you should stick with windows XP Pro till vista is compatible with what you plan to use there.
Upgrade your PSU, there is alot of components going in there. If you go with the 8800 GTX you will need a min of 700 watts for that card and your components. Even if you dont I would go with a 550 Watt PSU.
Also another recomendation is to build this yourself its alot cheaper.

Well i have taken your advice but can't seem to get the price below ?1800 the reason i'm not building it myself is that with the guys im going with i can get a 0% interest finance =] As i can't afford all of the cash at once.
www.pcspecialists.co.uk is who i'm using could you maybe take a look through and see what you feel would be best for under ?1500?
=)
