You have an active forum. I think some things could be improved there in terms of SEO but it's not terrible. However, "soap chat" isn't a phrase you should expect to rank well for, since you're not really optimizing for that, as far as I can tell. You do better for "soapchat" (all one word).
What you need to do is to think about what search terms people are likely to type into that search box when they're looking for a forum like yours. Then you need to optimize for those terms. See my article on

But back to your question, your links, etc., all seem to be working okay. I don't see any obvious damage done by overwriting the previous .htaccess file.
What I would suggest is adding the following lines to the top of the current .htacess file:
