I've made a currently commercial banner rotating system, which allows to insert literally everywhere an unlimited number of banners and advertising with ease.

The management program is pretty straight-forward and easy to use. There aren't any confirmation messages, and all fields are open, none is mandatory. Invalid entries, for some reason or another, are not shown in the production environment. However, if your scripts / HTML are syntactically incomplete, the pages may be messed up. Thus, please make sure they work.

The banner system accepts both simple or animated images (jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp), and Adsense scripts. Please browse the Ads to see the various Ad types.

Simple or animated images are hot-linked (redirect to source). If you wish not to hotlink, you must refer to an image local to your site, still using a valid URL, though.


Field descriptions:

• ID: This field is filled automatically and identifies each banner uniquely.
• Name: This field is only significant to image banners, and would appear as the tooltip. 250 Characters wide.
• URL: This field is only significant to image banners, and represents the link to the banner image. 250 Characters wide.
• Image: If you have an image as your banner, please insert here the URL. If it is a local image, you may insert a relative path to the vbbanners folder, e.g. ../forum/images/empty.gif. The image property ovverides an eventually present text in the next field. 250 Characters wide.
• Text: This field may hold the Google Adsense HTML / Java Script. Just paste here what you have created at the Google's site, or anything else. Unlimited size.
• Start Date: This field accepts a starting date. Ads are not selected if the current server date is less than this date. It is filled with the current date if left empty, or zeroed (0000-00-00) if the value is 0. Format: yyyy-mm-dd.
• End Date: This field accepts an end date. Ads are not selected if the current server date is greater than this date. It is filled with the current date if left empty, or zeroed (0000-00-00) if the value is 0. Format: yyyy-mm-dd.
• Impressions: This field is filled automatically and represnts the number of impressions on your board. Please note that Ads are impressed when they are created inside your pages. There is generally no way to tell when Ads were clicked on.
• Notes: Anything you wish here. Unlimited size.
